WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY FIRST VISIT?

Each session is customized to the client. Upon arriving to your first visit, you'll need to fill out a client intake form if one wasn't previously completed online. The therapist will take a few minutes before the session begins to go over your medical history and discuss any restrictions or contraindications you may have before beginning the massage. We ask that new clients arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your first appointment to allow enough time for paperwork to be completed so we don't cut into hands on time.

CAN MY MASSAGE BE COVERED BY MEDICAL INSURANCE?

Most insurance companies don't cover massage. Therefore Blue Lotus Massage doesn't accept payment through insurance. However, if your insurance company does cover massage, we'll be happy to provide a medical receipt so you can submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Flexible Spending Cards and Health Savings Account Cards are accepted, however you'll need to work with your FSA/HSA provider directly to determine if massage is an eligible expense that is covered.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A MASSAGE?

We are firm believers that massage is for everybody and in order to function at optimal performance, we recommend a massage every 4 - 6 weeks. However, your therapist will work with you to determine the best treatment plan that works for you.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A MASSAGE?

Massage provides many physical and mental benefits and each individual could experience these benefits differently. Massage reduces stress, improves circulation in the body, reduces pain in achy joints and muscles, and can improve flexibility. Massage can also improve sleep, reduce fatigue, and enhance your immunity by stimulating the lymph nodes and recharging your immune system. Massage is a great help in relieving anxiety and depression by releasing endorphins in your system which can leave your feeling happy, energized, and at ease. After an injury or surgery, massage can be a great help in the rehabilitation process by reducing swelling and improving range of motion.

CHIROPRACTIC CARE AND OTHER MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

Our goal at Blue Lotus Massage is to ensure you're receiving overall care for your health concerns. We've partnered with Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, and other medical professionals in order to provide a referral if further care is needed outside the scope of our practice.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Professional draping is used at all times during the massage. At the beginning of each massage session, we explain and instruct all clients to disrobe to their comfort level and the therapist will respect all boundaries set forth by the client. The therapist reserves the right to end the massage session early if there is any inappropriate behavior and payment for the full session is expected. We have a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior and any client that violates this will no longer be able to return for any future sessions.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Appointment reminders are sent out via text and email. We kindly ask that you provide a 24 hour notice for any appointment that needs to be cancelled or rescheduled. Same day cancellations are subject to a $25 cancellation fee. No call/no show appointments are required to pay the full price of the session missed. Any client that has violated this policy 2 or more times will no longer be allowed to return for future sessions.
